Bojnice Castle is one of the oldest and most important monuments in Slovakia. The first written mention of the existence of the castle is from 1113 in the deed of the Zobor Abbey. It was originally a wooden castle and developed from an older hillfort. The Bojnice castle is romantic, with the originally Gothic and Renaissance foundations of the castle partially preserved. It is located in the Trenčín region and lies on the western edge of the town of Bojnice. The castle is visible from most of the upper Ponitri. It is built on travertine rock and consists of an inner and outer castle with three courtyards. In 1970, it was declared a National Cultural Monument.

It belongs to general-type zoos, i.e. j. without a clear specialization of certain animal species. In the past, greater attention was paid to the breeding of lynx, running (emu, nadu), and mountain goats. The zoo complex is located in the recreational environment of the spa town of Bojnice.
Trenčín Castle, Trenčín
The dominant feature of Trenčín and the whole of Považia guards the ancient trade routes connecting the Mediterranean region with the Baltics and Northern Europe. On the site of today's castle, during the period of Great Moravia, a castle stood as the administrative center of the adjacent region. Today's castle was built in the 11th century as a border fortress, guarding the important Váž fords and the important Carpathian passes through which trade routes passed, connecting the area of northern Hungary and central Slovakian mining towns with Bohemia, Moravia, Silesia, and Poland. In the following centuries, it became the seat of the border committee, the royal, and later the noble county. Today, its ancient premises house exhibition spaces and several exhibits of the Trenčín Museum
